Greetings October
Greetings October! It’s been a very busy few months for me so just dropping in with a few highlights. For the last few months I’ve been putting together a brilliant anthology ‘Ourselves Reflected Back’ for Flux Rotherham, featuring work of 70 poets across a whopping 137 poems. It’s been a joy to work as an editor with such a brilliant range of local poets of all ages and backgrounds from across the region. The launch happened at the Civic Theatre Rotherham on 2nd Oct, and it was such a special event. It was also fabulous to have a number of Hive poets and current members of Rotherham Young Writers included in the book. Some were excited to be published for the first time and also opened the night at the Civic.
A massive congratulations Sheffield Young Writer Rebecca Smith who won the BBC Young Writers Award 2025. And to Nathan Graham of Rotherham Young Writers who was a top 15 winner of the international Foyle Young Poets Prize 2025.
