I led creative writing workshops around the life of painter, Henri de Toulouse Lautrec, with young writers in Sheffield and Rotherham. They wrote short and haiku-style poetry about Lautrec’s life and work which were then translated into French and played as part of a visual display with a live score by musician, the Only Michael at Musee Toulouse Lautrec, Albi, France.

The Installation was part of a number of live and exhibition pieces happening as part of the event ‘Nuit des Musées’, the European museum night where galleries are open free until midnight to inspire wider attendance of families and evening revellers. I, and a small team of local students, travelled around the exhibitions during the evening encourage people of all ages to write their own poems dedicated to Lautrec. The works were read in the lecture theatre at key times during the evening.
