2005 Heroes and Villains photography project
Inspired Millennium Galleries soon to come Gerald Scarfe, Heroes and Villains
exhibition, I planned and delivered a day workshop encouraging students to
explore the
heroes and villain theme in traditional and contemporary portraiture, thought
various creative tasks. This followed with a studio portraiture session where
students worked with myself to develop ideas around these themes, followed
by digital editing. The finished work was displayed in the education area of
the Gerald Scarfe exhibition, at Millennium Galleries.

workshop in model making and computer animation (4 hours)
In this workshop participants created a frame-by-frame animation story using
models and landscapes they made from clay and other craft materials.

2004 International Photography & performance workshops
These workshop were part a wider educational project between partners from
Spain, Finland and the UK [Site Gallery / CEDI]. As part of our second international
meeting in Finland, we presented and shared our individual methods of working
through evaluation, case studies and recreating successful workshops we run
with community groups at the gallery. My work as a workshop leader with community
groups has contributed to a final international booklet of working methods.

The workshop was intended as an introduction or refresher into the main areas
of B&W photography, including using SLR cameras & lens, processing
film and darkroom printing.

Participants took pictures of each other using a digital camera and went on
to discover some simple manipulation techniques using Photoshop, leaving with
a printout of their achievements.

Workshops I’ve delivered involved; learning basic html, effective use
of images on the web, planning navigation and site briefs, making html tables,
design tricks and Gif animation (users of all ages/backgrounds)
Access Space / RTI A community Internet space, with an emphasis on learning
and sharing transferable skills, running on recycled and discarded computers
and a free operating system and software.

2000 Animation Workshop - an introduction into animation using
Director 6, Gif Animator,
Kai’s Power Goo, PhotoShop and a digital camera
The workshop consisted of an a brief introduction into animation and it’s
history, discussing the present exhibition ‘Horse Show’ in relation
to older methods of animation. This preceded tutoring in basic animation techniques
using new technology to bring to life the photographic stills of ‘animals
in motion’ produced by Muybridge in the 1800’s.

workshop in photographic manipulation using Photoshop
The workshop consisted of a presentation of my work, followed by tutoring in
Photoshop techniques and photo related manipulation.
